Giveaway and Ramblings

First of all, a big thank you to everyone for their kind words and advice on my wedding makeup trial.. I loved it at the time and my stupid head was starting to get to me, so thank you for making it go away! :)

Secondly... the GIVEAWAY is ending tonight, so get your entry in. I swear it takes two seconds (ok not literally two seconds, but it's quick and easy - like a frozen pie) and at the moment there is only one entry so your chances of a FREE blu-ray are pretty darn high if you ask me. Enter now by clicking here.

Now on to my ramblings...

A left me on Sunday. Not left left me, but left me to live in Melbourne for a few months. I was pretty good at the airport until he was going on to the plane and I couldn't stop hugging him, I kept making him go to the back of the line and when I looked over his shoulder I saw a lady smiling at us, that was it.... the crying started!! It hit me- I won't be on this adventure with him! It's hard, but I'm proud of him and happy for him.

Since A has been gone though, I have not been sleeping well at all. Night 1 - scary scary nightmare. Nights 2 & 3 - restless sleeps and Night 4 - another nightmare.

WTF<>?!

I thought I would be in starfish heaven having our huge lush bed all to myself, but damn it I can't freaking sleep!!

I had a weight gain this week, but that was expected it was the "monthly gain".

Despite my gain, yesterday was still an awesome day, because I did two things I previously thought were impossible....

I ran for 26minutes straight without stopping (remember my previous celebration of 20 minutes?)

ANNND..

I finally did a pole dancing trick, the upside down V that I have been trying to do for FOR-EVER!

oKK.. so I still haven't perfected it and my hips need to be up higher, I need to have more strength in my landing and stop sliding, but the last one's the poles fault lol and it is only the third time right here, I just took the video to show my friend who didn't believe me. You can here my excitement at the end :P

What's everyone got planned for the weekend?

I am off to see Anh Do tomorrow night, but that's about it for this weekend..... I'm keeping it low key before I head off to Melbourne next weekend (yaaahooooo!)

Here's a funny heading in to Friday... I saw it on FB.

Monday Giveaway: PROJECT X!!

Okay, I still haven't been able to embed the Project X blog app, but i'll link it a couple of times, you can just follow the link to the app. If it doesn't work on your work computer (may be blocked like mine), just follow it on your phone...

Anyone who has been reading my blog for a while knows that I love to drink, dance, get messy and party with a bunch of friends, as often as I can! So this Project X giveaway is perrrfect for me!!

I actually watched Project X with some friends about a month ago and throughout the entire movie I was cringing, laughing and kind of (read as really really) wishing I was at that party.

For those of you who don't know the story behind Project X, it follows 3 high school boys, as they attempt to finally make a name for themselves, by throwing an amazing party...word spreads quickly... the party gets wild and dreams are ruined, records are blemished and legends are born.

Warner Bros. have given me the chance to giveaway a Project X Blue Ray DVD to my followers, to celebrate it's release on Blu-Ray.

Warner Bros. has also released a Project X Blog App, which you can see here.

The app is pretty cool and I had fun with it, following the rude little gnome and answering a few questions to find out my party personality...

I was drink master - NO SURPRISES THERE!! bahaha

You can also use the app to find out your party name. Mine was Nurse Off-Face LOL.

Okkkkayy on how to win...

1. Be a follower of this blog

2. . Follow the Project X app, by clicking this link and post in the comments your party personality or party name below

Competition will close on the 19th July 2012, with the winner chosen at random on the 20th July 2012. It's not open for long, so get your comment in quickly.

GOOD LUCK PARTY ANIMALS!!

Shooty - Wedding Stuff

On Sunday on "our way back" from The Entrance, I made A go with me'to a bridal expo at the Sebel Resort and Spa Hawkesbury . Okay.. when I made this decision I clearly had no idea how far the Hawkesbury is from anywhere!! We just kept driving and driving and driving....

When we finally got to the expo, we were greeted with a very pretty set up for a civil ceremony.

We then made our way through the many rooms, pointing out little things, collecting freebies and munching on canapes until we made it to the whole reason we went there.....

I love coloured lighting in rooms..

I originally saw the Shooty wall about this time last year at an expo and I knew I wanted it, but it was too early to make any decisions then and A hadn't seen it.

Unfortunately the Shooty people don't have a studio and the only way to see it is at expos or other people's weddings I guess?

Fast forward to Sunday when they were finally at an event we could go to. When I originally saw the packages on the table I was shocked at the price increase since the first time I saw them (a good $400-500) and A wasn't sure about the wall because of it (damn men and their logical thinking lol).

Luckily after Patricia from Shooty came to talk to us and realised I was the crazy bride emailing her for a year, she offered to give us the wall at the price from a year ago.... SOLD!!

The photo above is of the smaller wall and basically you can go infront or behind the wall. If your behind the wall you can poke your head through and it looks like you're a painting or a picture.

hehehe love the girl with the heart

I love the wall because it's a nice twist on the traditional photo booth, it can fit up to 20 people in one shot and we can put our own photos in the little frames on the wall. I already know some of the photos will include one of my brother, pets passed, parents' weddings etc. I think it iss a great way to include people who can't enjoy the day with us..

Now I want to get creative with some props that are just our own... A has already put in his request for light sabers lol

Do you have any ideas for props??

Ohh, I received these little guys in the mail yesterday too - wedding activity kits for the lil ones at our wedding. Closer to the date, I'll dress them up in an organza bag or something to make them look a lot nicer, but I think it's a good way to keep the rugrats from being rugrats for a while lol.

P.S. Stay tuned to this blog for a GIVEAWAY this week!!!

Last Chance!!

It is your last chance now to enter my giveaway.
I am going to draw it tomorrow morning, so enter NOW NOW NOW!!!

In other news... I have been back solidly on 12wbt since I got back from Manila for 2 weeks now and I am starting to see the change.

Last week I lost 300grams, this week I lost 500grams.
It is not the fastest pace in the world, but this morning something clicked and I finally feel like I have gotten my Mojo back!

I need to explain what I mean by "back". When I left for my exchange in Canada I was my heaviest ever and I decided I would not continue being the "chubby" girl. In Canada I had a gym in my apartment complex and I ate their version of Lite n Easy on most days. While everyone else gained weight on exchange, I managed to loose 9kgs. Travelling around the US for a month with A quickly put 2 of those back on, but it didn't matter because now I was determined!!

When I was in Canada I would stream Australian radio on the computer and one day I heard the ad for 12wbt. I decided I was not going to tell anyone (in case I failed) but I would do it.

At the half way point, I couldn't hide it anymore as the weight started to drop and as people commented on how skinny I was looking I was happy to tell them how. I did 12wbt a second time and got to my lowest weight, which was 15kgs lower than when I started. This was some time ago now... not sure exactly how long, but over a year.

This is what my body was like then.

I kept the weight off for a long time and it wasn't until October (after the engagment party) last year that I gained a few sneaky kgs. I am not as big as I was, but I am not loving life as much as I use to.
My clothes are getting tighter and I am hating most pictures I see myself in.
These are my signs that I need to do something.

I love that "throw anything on" and feel fabulous feeling!! It is sooo much better than the, "try a million things on and still see a sumo in the mirror" feeling.

That Sarah was happier and that is the Sarah I am determined to get back.

Do you have any tips or tricks for getting your mojo back or shedding the unwanted kgs?

GIVEAWAY 100th POST GIVEAWAY!

I did promise a while ago that I would have a giveaway when I reached 100 posts.

I also said I would purchase the giveaway in the Philippines.

I am now at 117 posts, but I don't think the details matter, it's a GIVEAWAY!!

The giveaway is this little pack of goodies I collected on my travels and put together.

Hand made soaps from Boracay, 4 different flavours. They smell divine (I was very tempted to keep them myself) and all have different purposes.

Strawberry Lip Butter, which again I wish you could smell or eat it.. yummmm.

Victoria's secret body spray.
Yes this is American, but I bought it in Manila so same same. LOL.

Small wooden jewellery box from Boracay, which managed to make it through customs.

A pedicure/manicure set.
I purchased this item, because it has all the stuff in there that they used on me when I got my mani pedi.
The pink bottle actually helps with cuticle removal. I love it.

All you have to do to go in to the running for this giveaway is..

1. Become a follower of this blog
2. Tell me your favourtie holiday destination and why.

That's it! It's that simple!

I will draw the winner by a random picker early next week.

Good Luck!!!

xx

I'm baccckkkkkkk!

I am back from my trip to the Philippines and back to the blogging world.

As I get time I will post on individual parts of my holiday, but right now as I sift through a million emails at work, I thought I would just write a quick post to say it truly was AMAZE BALLS!!

I loved the Philippines, the people are amazing, the shopping is cheap, the beaches are beautiful and the food is delicious!! I would highly recommend a trip there to anyone. I enjoyed it more than the now tourist populated Thailand.

catching the boat from Boracay
I kept my promise when on holidays; I took lots of pictures and I picked up a few things for my 100 post giveaway, so make sure you stay tuned :)

It was hard to leave the Philippines, not only because we had an amazing holiday, but also because we didn't want to come back to the family dramas.

We landed back in Sydney on Thursday and yesterday A got a message from his brother asking if we were all good now with "the venue change". We had no idea what he meant as we haven't heard anything about the christening since my last post. A asked his brother what he meant by it and it seems like the christening venue has been changed. I am gobsmacked. I am thankful, shocked and relieved. I just wish all the hurtful things weren't said in the decision process. I don't wish this for me, because I think of myself as pretty tough and I can let these comments bounce of me. I wish the things weren't said for A and for his relationship with his family. In saying that, I know family is family and A will move on from this.

100th POST!!!

Hurrahhhhh!! I have somehow managed to find 100 things to babble on about and I have even managed to have people read a few of them. The 3 most popular of these 100posts have been about our engagement party, our engagement invites and my bridesmaids' dresses. I get the hint- keep the wedding stuff coming :P

I must admit I never use to see myself as a blogger, but now I am loving it! I love the feedback from everyone, the new ideas and just the general aspect of catching up with all my favourite bloggers everyday. I actually have a morning ritual at work, which starts by catching up on all the blogs and I can ONLY begin working after this is done :)

As I mentioned in my previous post I will be having a giveaway to mark this momentus occassion, but to make it an extra special giveaway I am going to pick something up from the Philippines... so you will have to wait (sorry!)

As for now, I thought I would post some of the pictures that I intended to write about, but never did.

Day at the Races

NYE in Mollymook

Kookai Top, Sportsgirl Pants

CAUTION: Escaltors are dangerous these days, wear a helmet!

The dress was a present and Novo heels.

The bright pink in these decorations remind me of the hot pink peonies I would love for our wedding.

Travelling

I have been preparing for my trip to the Philippines lately and part of that has been stocking up on the travel necessities.

The past week, I have got
  1. Travel Insurance (a MUST!!!)
  2. Mini shampoo, conditioner and toothpaste -  the mini sizes allow you to take them in your carry on, leaving valuable shopping space in your suitcase!
  3. New makeup remover (mine was running out)
  4. A money belt - these are great when you're going to places where you shouldn't carry a handbag.

  5. A pillow for the plane

  6. A belt and lock for my suitcase- no Schappelle Corby incidents here!

I still have to get a Typhoid injection, some local currency to get me started, leave my engagement ring at home (sad face), pack my clothes and then I should be good to go.

Is there anything you make sure you get when you're travelling to a less developed country?

Has anyone been to the Philippines before? It's my first time!

P.S. I think in honour of my 100 posts coming up shortly, I will bring something back from the Philippines for my first giveaway...

A Dozen Roses

Yesterday, a dozen roses were delivered to my work for me. They weren't from a secret admirer, a friend or even my fiance. They were from Angie from An Obsession with the Fabulous.

I won the Valentines Giveaway on An Obsession with the Fabulous and Flowers for Everyone delivered me these beautiful long stemmed red roses.

They looked and smelt amazing!!

I put them on my mum's bed last night and told her they were a gift, as she hadn't been well lately.

This was the email I received from her this morning-

Thanks for my roses, the last time I ever received them was my 21st birthday. Can't tell you how much it cheered me up, thanks bubby, I love them. Not sure why I deserve them but loved waking up this morning to see them.

Aww I love her, I'll tell her I won them next week :)
