Engagements and Christenings

Talk about a jam packed weekend!!!

I am pretty sure I forgot to sleep last weekend, and relaxing wasn't even thought of.. but I still wouldn't have changed a second of it!

On Friday night I met up with a few of my girls for a pub dinner and Sangria. I think in my old age I am getting slightly wiser, because I made sure I was home at a decent time knowing that I had an earlish start the next day.

The earlish start was our friend's engagement party - a BBQ lunch at a pub in the Rocks.

I wish I wish I took photos of all the pretty flowers and lanterns they had around the place, but of course I didn't. It was a really relaxed vibe and the subtle decorations with the old cobblestone just looked beautiful.

It was such a nice party, and we had loads of fun cooking our meat on the grill and hanging our photos up for the Polaroid guest book.

I wore this bright pink dress, which I later teamed with a white blazer (both from Dat Girl). I love the colour of this dress and it matched the perfect Sydney weather.

We dragged our jolly selves home on Saturday night, for yet another early start on Sunday.

Sunday was the day of my friend's baby's christening and the church started at 10am. A and I race down to the car park at around 9:20am to drive to the church and make it just at the right time, to see that our flatmate's friend has parked her car in front of ours, locking us in. My flatmate and her with both at our other friend's paintball day.

To say I was angry would probably be putting it nicely, as I desperately tried ringing all of our friend's phones without a response from anyone, because of course they are shooting each other with paint. When we finally did get someone on the phone, my flatmate told me the keys were in his room to move the car, but it was all too late.... we had missed the church ceremony.

I was one of those people. The people who go to the reception and not the ceremony.

I explained it to my friend and she was very sweet about it, but we still felt awful.

This is my beautiful friend. She is the mother of a seven month old baby. She puts my no baby body to shame!

The reception was at a Macedonian restaurant and it was so so much fun! Great food, a lot (read too much: we were all sweating) of sunshine, wine and circle dancing...  let's just say I was in bed by 6pm that night.

And then it is Monday. AGAIN. Boo!

The real life Shire

A was back in Sydney this weekend, so naturally we celebrated by consuming wayyy too many drinks!!!

On Friday night, when I picked him up from the airport he  was sooo excited that he was talking super fast and I had to remind him to breathe. He  also kept making comments like "yeyyy oceann.." or "woohooo look at this sunny day, sunshine yeaahhh". lol.

We invited a few friends over for drinks, who A squashed with his big Greek bear hugs each time and then proceeded to munch on snacks, have straight Vodka shots (why oh why do we do this to ourselves?) and play Xbox Connect.

It was a great night and we slept for a good 10hours before we had to see the state of our apartment. Apparently throwing popcorn, cheese and breaking glasses was the theme for the night?

The family (A, I and our house mates) needed a greasy brunch of burgers and chips, before we were ready to face the world and then we didn't even face it. We felt sorry for ourselves in the lounge room all day, before we prepared for a night out in The Shire.

I had recently given one of my girls my old brown clip in extensions, because I no longer have brown hair and had only worn them a couple of times. She was wearing them on Saturday night, so I decided I would wear my blonde ones.. I haven't worn them in a good 9months!!

curls get the girls

I really enjoyed curling them and the feeling of long, thick, luscious hair.. I think these will be making a comeback!

When the entire house was glammed up, we headed over the bridge (yes, the one that's always on the show) for our night out....

you get an idea of the top from this picture..

I wish I took an outfit shot.. I was wearing my Witchery black rope top, red Kmart skinnies, Wittner black pumps and my white blazer.

We started at a friends house (where I consumed my second bottle of Moscato for the weekend) before we headed to Carmens, which was apparently having a reopening...

If you could see "The Shire" in a nightclub, that was it!

Lots of blondes, lots of skimpy outfits, aussie men and summer tans.

my makeup got drunk too

The club was way too packed and the security was way too strict, constantly telling people to move out of certain places... but luckily we were with great friends and had an awesome night, despite feeling a lil out of place.

My friend above was told by a girl that she looked like Niki Minaj. We aren't sure if this was just because she was the only brown person in the club, but it gave us a good laugh.

One of our other friend's girlfriends is tiny and cannot drink very much, so the night was cut short when she needed to go home.

As soon as we walked out of the club, I stood on a part of the footpath, which joined the nature strip and BAM! DOWN I WENT in my huuuggee heels! By this time, there were only a few of us left and the boys and my bestie quickly ran to my aid... helping me up and taking off my heels.

I had hurt my ankle BAD, but I didn't even cry.. I'm proud of myself.

One of the boys gave me both of his shoes instantly and proceeded to piggy back me back to my friend's place.

This guy has broken ribs people!!! What a sweetheart.

I felt bad and tried to walk, so he gave me his shoes, but then he had none and I felt bad again... so in our drunken wisdom, we decided that I would wear one of each of the boys shoes, so they still had one on each. Makes sense right?

GREAT LOOK.

We then had a piggyback race down the street, I shared some hot chips with my friend's puppy, felt nauseous in a cab, followed by a mad dash from the cab to our apartment , scared the crap out of my guy friend by pulling out my extensions and fake lashes (he then tugged on my girls hair to see if it was real) and passed out on the couch with A.

This.. my friends, is the real life Shire and a hell of a lot more entertaining then the scripted stuff channel 10 is showing right now, don't you think? :P

side note: I had yesterday off work nursing my ankle, but today most of the swelling is gone and I'm walking a lot better.

Another weekend goes by...

First of all, yes the giveaway post is missing, I was having trouble with the Project X App link, but as soon as I fix it I will re post it and you'll HAVE to enter to win a free Blu Ray DVD - 3minutes of your time = FREE DVD, not bad if you ask me?

Anyways... on to the weekend... I had an extra long weekend last weekend...

I had Thursday off to look after my mum (she wasn't well..maybe i'll explain one day) and then Friday we had off to drive up to The Entrance, well that was the plan...

Flowers from A for my mumma

Unfortunately, on Thursday night after Pole Dancing my car decided she didn't want to keep driving much more and was giving me trouble the whoollleee wayyy home. I made it to the front of our apartment complex and parked illegally, because I wasn't sure she'd make it to the car park. Friday morning I dropped her off at the mechanics and by Friday afternoon I was $1200 poorer =( FML!

Warning lights - never a good sign!

Just what I need before Dat Girl launches, and a wedding and stuff right? :P

Moving on... after we dropped the car off, we took A's car to go pick out our new lounge.

It looks like this one, but ours will be made in a black suede with red patterned cushions. Our lounge room is VERY VERY light, it has a huge amount of sunlight and the whitest of white walls, so I think the dark couch will work well.

Two beds next to each other- yeey!!

Around 3:30pm, we finally headed up to The Entrance. We went to The Entrance with a couple friend of ours, we assumed "up to 4 people" may have meant the room had bedrooms, nope it didn't, this is how it looked... lol. You should have seen A's face! ;)

Shank mmm love Shank.

Friday night was spent at the local diggers club, pub feed, with a few bottles of wine and some Vodkas on the rock.

NO DEAL!!

We started Saturday off with a huuugee hot buffet breakfast, then headed to the markets, the local arcade (where A and I dominated basketball and Deal or No Deal lol) then off to the movies to see Spiderman for only $13!!! $13!!! I remember when movies use to be that cheap everywhere... I think I was 15.

Have you seen the new Spiderman yet?? I really enjoyed it, a lot more than the Toby Maguire ones I must say. This Spiderman is funny.. soo funny.. "oh no. how did you know that small knifes were my weakness?" hehe.

A bit of a side track, but I watched Ted last night too and I was in stitches throughout the movie. If you are a Family Guy fan, you have to see Ted. If you aren't a Family Guy fan, you still HAVE to see Ted!

Saturday night at the Entrance we hit up another local for some more wine and pizza, before our busy Sunday that I posted about earlier.

Pelicans

The vest returned - 2 weekends in a row.

I ate sooo bad the entire weekend.... chips, hot chips, pizza, popcorn. I am so surprised that I managed to not gain any weight at this week's weigh in. It's no surprise that I didn't lose any either.

Hot Chips are the one thing I really struggle to stay away from!!

What are your guilty pleasures?
You know the foods you miss most when you are "eating healthy".

G-Unit

What a weekend!! Unfortunately, it's usually the good ones that leave you begging for an extra day off and struggling to get out of bed.

Just to be a little different today, I'm
going to tell you about my weekend backwards...

On Sunday, after very little sleep I drove to Wollongong to see my dad (post on that later). While I was in Wollongong, I also saw my 83 year old English Grandad. This is what he was wearing...

A and I could not stop giggling and the conversation went a little something like this...

"oh grandad I like your jacket" *giggle*
"it's nice isn't it? I like it because it keeps me warm"
" it's very cool" *giggle*
"you know the other day I was out walking and a young man came up to me and said he liked my jacket too"
*giggle* "g-unit is a rapper grandad"
"ooohh that makes sense then. I just thought it looked warm"

Hehehe so cute! My grandad the gangsta.
A pointed out that the g in G-unit could also stand for grandpa. Watch out ladies, it's the grandpa unit :P

Saturday night we had a triple combined birthday party, which started at the Meriton Apartments with a waitress, pizza and drinks.

Pre drinks

After we were all nicely tipsy, we headed to Home Nightclub.

It was a great night, but I don't think these nights are doing my waist any favours... Might have to take a break for a while I think.

Before heading to the apartment for the party, I rolled my tragic and hungover bum out of bed to see my hairdresser at Ivy hairdressing.

Before

After

I love it! I love being fresh blonde and I missed my side fringe.. I was constantly worried about the size of my forehead without it haha.

Friday night was suppose to be a "quiet couple" with 2 of the birthday peeps.

A quiet couple turned into 3 bottles of wine between two girls, a tonne of xbox connect contests and a huge amount of laughs.

It was a fun night. I moved out of home for nights just like this.

A good weekend but a busy one. Finally I think I'll have some rest this coming weekend, with only a christening in my calendar.

How was your weekend?

Crazy Weekend.

Some times the weekends are just so crazy busy, that you wish you had another weekend after them just to get some sleep and relax a little.

I have a love, hate relationship with this type of weekend. I love it because I usually get a lot done & get to see a lot of different friends, but I hate it because afterwards I am just so dang tired.

So what did the last crazy weekend involve?

Friday night, I left the nest, I spread my wings and I moved out of my mum's home to the "party pad".

Complex Pool

I love the new place, I love feeling responsible and free and I love inviting people over to "our place".

Complex gym (yep! Going to be here a lot!!)

The move on Friday night took a long time, one of my friends got injured and the boys didn't finish unloading the truck until 1.30AM. After that, none of us were keen to do anything but have a few quiet drinks amongst the mess and fall asleep on the couch.

Our bed arrived Saturday morning, but we had so much on we couldn't even put it together. I had a laser hair removal and hair appointment during the day, as well as an appointment with my mum to collect some more stuff. I then had to run back to the new place and the nail parlour  to have my chipped shellac removed before I got ready for Jamila's wedding.

I had lost my invite to the wedding, but I knew it was at the Ivy Ballroom and I was pretty sure it was at 5pm. I messaged my friend Jacquie to check and she confirmed. I rushed A and myself as much as I could to get there on time. I HATE being late to weddings. We arrived at 5.10pm, only to be told the room would not be opening until 5.30 and the wedding would commence at 6pm - WOOPS!

Jamila looked stunning and the room was gorgeous.
I will post more about the wedding and pictures when my Internet is reconnected.

Sunday morning we had a much-needed sleep in before cleaning, unpacking, cooking and putting our bed together.
I couldn't be happier with the bed and I will post a photo of it shortly.

Sunday night saw us fleeing the party pad again for Priscilla's 30th birthday at The Victoria Room (outfit pictures when I have Internet :) ).

Priscilla's "I'm ready to party" photo that she messaged me ahaha

Priscilla had around 25guests so they had a section of the restaurant just for her, which was sectioned off by bamboo curtains. The area had quite a few lounges and communal tables. The set up was great; it made it easy to move around and not as formal as sitting at a dinner table. The food was delicious and only $55 per person for the banquet.

Throughout the night there was also entertainment was also provided, which ranged from a signer to a pole dancer and a magician!!

If you want a classy night out with good food and GREAT cocktails, I would highly recommend The Victoria Room in Darlinghurst. Even A was happy :)

We returned back to the pad about 11:30pm and our roommate was still awake. After looking around the room, I noticed some of my shoe boxes (in the lounge room) were empty. I asked our roommate where my shoes were and he promptly told me that he had put them away. He thought he was unpacking them for me and being helpful, without realising that the boxes weren't for moving, but for storing the shoes. It was very cute and such a boy move. LOL

It was a great weekend, but it was jam-packed and our place is still full of boxes and bags! I wish I could just stay home from work for a week to make it our own.

What did you get up to on the weekend?

P.S The GIVEAWAY is still open!!!

Weekend Wrap Up

What a GREAT weekend I had. I caught up with 3 different groups of friends, had alone time with the man and for once don't feel exhausted or hungover on a Monday morning. Maybe I am in holiday mode already?? Not sure if I mentioned this, but I am off to the Philippines with A, my bestie and his bestie next Wednesday- CANNOT WAIT!

Boracay, Philippines.

Friday night was a sleep over with one of my closest girls Alana. Home made, a few bottles of wine and lots of gossip always makes for an awesome Friday night in.

Saturday morning we got up, got a pedicure and then I went to meet some of my other girls for lunch. One of these girls just got back from her wedding in South Africa, so again there was lots of gossip! We went to Liana's in Parramatta, which I usually love. Their Risottos and Pastas are great, but with my diet, I decided to try something healthier and I went for the BBQ Calamari. I wish I hadn't. It was not seasoned well at all and two lettuce leaves underneath it hardly constitutes a salad. :(

After lunch, I headed to see my hairdresser Kevin at Ivy Hairdressing to blonde me up and blonde he did :)

Then this blonde hit Kings Cross with friends for another friends 25th birthday. We went to Trademark, it was only my second time there and I really loved it. The music was a great party mix and we were shakin' our booty all night long. I'm not sure it would have been as spacey and comfortable if my friend hadn't reserved a booth, but he had – yey!

Bluejuice dress, Diva necklace.

Sunday we just nursed minor hangovers, did a bit of shopping for travel necessities and then watched a few DVD's- Four Brothers and Get Rich or Die Tryin'. I hadn't watched the second one before and after it finished I started Googling fiddy's biography.

He is real gangsta, none of this fake shit. I feel more gangsta after just watching it.

Do you ever feel like that after watching or reading an autobiography? Like you somehow actually know the celebrity now and you can "relate"??? hahahah. Who am I kidding? Like I can relate to someone who sold crack from the age of 12. Puhleasssseee. He would laugh in my face. LOL.

One Thing

I did ONE THING and ONE THING only on the weekend - I went to Stereosonic at ANZ Stadium and it was ammazzee balls!!! One festival is all you need to wipe out your entire weekend - Friday prep and Sunday recover, but I don't mind it was well worth it!

gang and some strangers!
I had purchased these cute JUNK apricot/pink shorts with a yellow belt for the festival and an aqua green top - I was going all out on the colour blocking, but 5mins before leaving my house, the zipper on the shorts broke!!! My first time wearing them, they weren't tight and they broke!! :( I just quickly chucked on any denim shorts in a hurry and got them changed on the Monday, but I was still disappointed because I had bought these shorts for this festival.

She's a stunner!

Anyways, the acts were great and I got to see LMFAO who I have loved since I moved to Canada 2 years ago - they are such fun performers!! I wish there were more festivals on during the summer, they are sooo much fun and it is a whole day I get to party with my lovely friends.

LMFAO

Huge Fan up high to see them!

Weekend Wrap-up

The weekend just past was amazingly messy... just the way I like it!!

On Friday night, I went to Hillside in Castle Hill with my girls Alessia and Drai, who I feel like I hadn't seen in agggessss.. girls catching up and $4 champagne = lots of giggles and a tonne of fun!!

Getting ready at Drai's

BOO!! Wearing a semi casual dress from ASOS.

Yes it's lady's night...

$4 champagne

Ale looking gorgeous as always!

Drunken ladies!

On Saturday we had a reunion in Bondi with our friends from the P&O Cruise where A proposed to me. It was so good seeing everyone again and such a relaxed atmosphere. Unfortunately, my tummy did not agree with my choice of several shots, Smirnoff and skullying wine. Oh well.. life goes on :)

The only two photos... sometimes I am too drunk to kodak?

I am suprised I managed to find my engagement dress on Sunday after how horrible these two nights made me feel... maybe my constant messiness has ensured I can do things regardless of how horrible the hangover is? Maybe I just really wanted a new dress? hehe.
