Bare foot

A friend of mine is leaving Oz in two weeks, for TWO YEARS! Her and her man are off to South America and North America, before living in London and travelling Europe for the remainder of their 2 years abroad. Jealous!!

I need a tan ASAP!

For their farewell, the cute couple held a barefoot bowls event.

I've never been barefoot bowls before, but it's a lot of fun, even when the boys are beating you silly and teasing is a regular thing. We finally won one point, when I grabbed a professional bowls man and told him his new name was Sarah. He cam over to the team and said "Hi, my name is Sarah and I think it's my turn". Hey, no one ever said we were above cheating?! haha.

Pretending to be my model.

Action shot!

Friday night we stayed in, which was a no brainer after the crazy hail storms that hit Sydney Friday afternoon.

We still had a beautiful sunset from our balcony that night though.

We watched Savages. Has anyone seen it?

I don't want to give anything away, but if you have seen it - did the end part give annoy you just a  lil bit? I really thought it was unnecessary and there were some parts in the movie where you were like "as if you'd be that stupid", but on a whole I liked it.

Oh and am I the only one who ever wishes Blake Lively's mouth would open properly when she talks? Yes she's a gorgeous girl and a good actor and all, but sometimes it frustrates the heck out of me!

Dat Girl was featured on GetFashion's Instagram today - I can't believe how much love it's getting!

Ohh and how was your Spring carnival celebrations? I LOOOVEEE going to the races, it is the one form of gambling I really enjoy and probably get a bit too serious about.

I didn't win the Cup, but was on a good roll of getting returns for the first 5 races of the day. I was offering my advice, tips and all. ;)

We have another Dat Girl photo shoot this weekend, a HUGE one actually. Now that A is back from Melbourne, I told him he should stick around for it to which he responded, "No, you'll be in work mode and we will have a fight, we'll go to the pub instead". Hmmph. Probably true.

Randomness

I have been a less frequent aka bad blogger of late. When I have spare time lately, the last thing I feel like doing is thinking or typing or staring at a computer - the perils of running an online store I guess?!

Anyways, I do enjoy blogging and I will try to behave more blogger like, starting with a randomness post..

Last night I caught up with my girl Priscilla, for a girly gossip catchup chat. I love our chats like this and we hadn't done one in a while, so 3 hours, food and coffee was needed!

I felt so refreshed and cleansed when I went home haha.

Vienna Chocolate... mmmmmMm!

Dat Girl is featured on Scoopon at the moment, it is exciting to see my baby out there and see people respond to it - it is also really nerve racking!

A returned to Sydney for goof last week - YAAAHHOOOOOO!!!

(pity about my fat arms in the above pic, it's okay I gave him Sangria so he wouldn't notice hardy ha)

Before we moved in together, we use to have a date night tradition of doing something, anything together every Tuesday night. We kind of forgot about this when we moved in together, but now we have started the tradition again.

We went to La Cita at Cockle Bay Wharf for tapas platters. The top platter was my favourite, the bread was warm, the meatballs were soft and the Chorizo, ohhhh the Chorizo!

We had a family lunch on Sunday and I wore a Dat Girl blazer, pretty petals. I am now obsessed with this blazer, I have worn it a few times and keep getting compliments, now I just need the man parts to tell people where to get it from :P

My niece couldn't stop looking at herself in the camera on my new iPhone 5. She is such a cutey, I spun out when I said hello to someone and out of her little mouth came "HELLOO" - I had never heard her talk before!

She has also started crawling in recent times, so it's been a big month for her. Must be tough!

One of my friend's puppies.. I dare you to say he is not cute? C'mon..I double dare you!

I love the attitude he has, I can't help but give him like a Mugley (is that the cartoon dog's name?) accent.

We are spoilt for sunsets from our balcony- SPOILT!!!

We had another Dat Girl photo shoot a few weeks ago, I am so excited to show everyone the new summer looks!

Why do I keep putting myself in photos with models? why? not my smartest move haha.

This is a new trick I taught myself on the pole when I was under the influence... I'm actually only holding on with one leg. I was very proud of myself.

We have our pole performance tonight and for the first time both my mum and A are coming to watch me... eeeep I hope I don't forget everything and look like a clutz! hahaha

What's your plans for the weekend?

Dat Girl Photo Shoot

This weekend was a HUGE weekend for me.. it was the very first Dat Girl photo shoot.

Naturally, I was stressing out, organising and not sleeping much the whole week leading up to it, as I tried to make sure I had everything organised. It's not the easiest task to prepare for something you have never ever done before.

Friday night I was up all night, setting up the studio, steaming clothes and tidying our place.

4 and a half hours later and I was awake and ready to go...

Kat from About Face came to do the girls makeup early in the morning.

Fortunately, the sun came to the party on Saturday, unfortunately.. the wind was invited too! In the morning, the wind was constantly knocking down the studio we set up, so we had to make do with what we had and hang it over a brick wall... holding it down with whatever weights we could find ( e.g. orange juice bottles lol)

After the slight hiccup we we got into full blow photo shoot mode and the girls were amazing!!! I couldn't be happier with how the models and our beautiful photographer worked together and helped bring my vision alive.

Behind the scenes shots...

It was a long day, shooting from 9am until 4:30pm, but the girls were all really fantastic and V, lollies, water and nuts gave us all the energy to keep going!

I really enjoyed the day and I am really loving doing this, I can't wait to show you all and launch the site...

I don't want to commit to a launch date just yet, as there is still a lot of work left to do, but as soon as I know when it will start operating... you'll be the first to know!
