Food Porn

On Tuesday night I went for the longest facial EV-ER! I had stinging skin, heard all about the ladies love affairs and of course was criticised for using clinique and told how bad my skin was for the entire time.

Has anyone else had this? I feel like some hairdressers do it too.. criticise your hair and you just wanna be like "gee thanks, I had some self esteem when I walked in here". That's why I love my current hairdresser, he just talks to me about life. Not hair.

After my facial, while I was all stinging and red, and it was waay too late to be eating, I went with A on a double date with my girl and her man to our local pub.

I wanted to share with you the looks of this pub food, because to me it takes pub grub to a whole new level.

Chicken

Lamb shanks

Ohhh yeah, this arrived on Tuesday too!

Umm yep.. that's me.. THE BRIDE! *chuffed*

  1. That pub food looks so delicious!

I don't understand why hairdressers etc feel it's appropriate to tell everyone about their private life. Why can't they just act professionally?

  2. Oh I have definitely had an experience like that with a facial!!

I had been given an awesome package off my BF for my b'day but when I booked they were no longer doing that package, so they said I could change it and offered me a facial.

Firstly, my self esteem was shattered! I thought my skin was 'okay' but not according to the facialist, she then proceeded to tell me that I needed to spend $1,000's on products and peels etc. I was like 'great b'day present'. haha.

Then they real kicker was when I was leaving they told me I needed to pay an extra $50! Um, excuse me?! They never mentioned that when I booked... and I literally went there with nothing. Just my car keys!!! I was so embarrassed. I had to call my mum to use her credit card, but she didn't answer and I left her a teary message, and then had to tell them I couldn't pay. They told me to call up the next day and pay. I never did. That was probably the wrong thing to do, but I dunno I didn't want to fork out $50 for something that was a present and actually made me feel bad!

It wasn't like a fancy facial or anything. Pretty standard. It must have been about $200 worth though, as the package my BF got me was $150! Anyway... Never going back. Obviously! ha.

  3. Ugh, I hate that! They always do it, and them try to sell you a stack load of expensive products.

    That food looks amazing!

And eeeeeeek for being the bride! I booked an appointment to view a wedding venue today and I nearly squealed when the lady said "look forward to seeing you and your fiancé then!" haha. My fiancé!!!

  4. I had an awful facial once. She talked the whole time and left the lights up high for the whole time. Told me how bad my skin was, and that I shouldn't pick repeatedly, and how bad it was that I had been a bit slack with exfoliating, and then used none of the specialist products (I use Dermalogica), instead she used Daily Microfoliant, which you can use twice a day it's so gentle. I could have done it at home...
