Bitten!

I have a lot of catching up to do and I'll do it one post at a time... In a random order :)

Last Wednesday night when I started walking home from the train station, I had this immense pain and I knew something had bitten me. It was unlike any pain I had felt before and I rushed home as quick as I could, to see what was a large red patch on my right bum cheek (yep my bum!).

The pain slowly started to go away and so when I started to feel nauseous and extremely hot for hours, I didn't put the two together. I just kept taking off clothes and sitting out in the cold with no jumper on. Later in the night though...I was greeted with enormous stomach pains. Now I'm a girl who has had horrible period pain for a very long time, but this made that look like nothing at all. I could barely even move to call my mum ( default engrained in me move) or ask my flatmate for help.

When I did ask them for help, they both agreed I should go to hospital. Now I don't think I'm a drama queen when it comes to being sick and I hadn't been to hospital for like 9 years prior to this, but given the pain I was in I decided to go.

The triage nurse saw me at my worst, when it all hurt and I was super nauseous. What happens whenever I go to the doctor with symptoms like this? Pregnancy test! *sigh* yep the big red bite on my bum is because I have a bun in the oven *rolls eyes*.

After seeing the nurse, I sat in the waiting room for 4 hours before I was finally called, I almost jumped for joy. The nurse asked my pain levels, took my vitals, gave me some pain killers and an ice pack and told me to go back to the waiting room and wait for the doctor. An hour and a half later, after seeing multiple people walk in and out of the doctor's room, I left the hospital.

I know it's silly to leave, but it ws 3:30am, almost 12hours since the bite and I was still alive, so I let me flatmate get some sleep and I took the chances.

I'm guessing I just had a bad reaction/allergy to whatever thing bit me.

Have you ever had a bad reaction to a bite or an allergic reaction to anything? I can't remember having one before.

So that was my adventure to the hospital :)

  1. Ow! I haven't had a reaction like that, but Mum was bitten on the ear by a red back about ten years ago and she was so sick for the next few days!

    Glad you are ok!

  3. you poor little thing, I hate going to the emergency room. You feel like you are on trial and to be honest who in their right mind would go there unless they felt it was an emergency!!!!
