Flowers

As you may or may not have seen earlier, my bridesmaid's dresses are going to come in a baby pink. I don't however, want a typical pink wedding.
I want to have classic black and white styling with shades of pink scattered throughout.
This is my idea, but bringing it to life is a whole other story and is usually where my mum comes in (she has all the crafty genes and forgot to pass them on to me).
Instead of just having flowers in one shade, I want to have bunches of baby pink, dark pink and white flowers, I think at the moment Peonies are my favourite!

Here are some I love...

Inspriation boards from stylemepretty.com

my favourite from Polkadot Bride

LOOOVEEE this idea I saw on stylemepretty.com

  1. Peonies are so soooooooooo pretty, they weren't in season when I got married, although the florist said she could get them for me but I'd be breaking my budget by a long shot. And how gorgeous are the weddings on stylemepretty and polkadotbride? I used to be on those two non stop pre-wedding.

    1. I only know theme because of the bridesmaid dresses and a love I have always had for black and white weddings. As for it being daunting, I just try to take one tiny element at a time and try not to think of the bigger picture ALL the time!

  5. Ohhh sorbet peonies !!! Hydrangeas LOVE THEM. Have you chosen a florist in Sydney yet? Remember to shop around for quotes.
Peonies are hydrangeas are the most sort after during wedding season - so they can be very very pricey so dont die when you get the quote. I knew a bride who got quoted 20,000 for peonies at her wedding! eeek !!!You can also achieve the same look with david austin roses. Let me know if you want some help with finding good florists in Sydney!!! :)

    1. OMG WHAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTT?????? $20,0000 is ridiculous!! I only have one florist in mind that has been recommended by our venue, as she works from home she should be good with prices, but I will absolutely need your help when it comes time!

Any idea how far out I should book a florist? I was thinking 6months or so....

    2. if i can butt in, you may need to book sooner, depending on your choice of flowers. Just shop around like Soph says. Make sure you ask people who have had flowers made, not the florist, they make everything look amazing.
Peonies have a short life span, thats why they are $$$$$. They dont grow all year round, and thats why we all fricken LOVE THEM! Love your choice's btw.

    3. I would book nearly a year in advance if you can and also ask to see examples. If they can also do a trial bouquet for you also - some florists do. Also peonies vary a lot in their availability depending on what kind of season we can get so they can be very unpredictable. Like Leah said they have a short flowering period usually Nov-Dec if that. 1 month a year. If all else fails you always have hydrangeas and david austin roses. Look up these florists - PoHo flowers and I highly highly recommend Clementine Posy! She is exactly what you are looking for.

  6. please to butt in! I will start looking at the start of next year then... that gives me 11months :) I am lucky they starting growing towards the end of november and our wedding is on the last day in November... I just need to take care of the $$$ side of things haha.
