SAVE THE DATES : Arrived!

When it comes to the wedding invitations, I won't blog them before I send them, but with the Save the Dates I don't mind.

I was in two minds whether or not to get Save the Dates, with such a long engagement people would have been hearing about our wedding date for 2 and a half years!! Either way, I thought I would remind them again with Save the Dates. I also think it is nice for our overseas and many interstate guests.

I didn't want to spend too much on the save the dates and wanted something simple and easy.

That is when I stumbled across these save the dates for only 0.37 each.

You can see them here.

We are not having a chandelier motif, but for a small fee Tori was happy to design something new for us, incorporating our motif. I wanted to keep it simple too, so it didn't clash with our black lace theme that will be in the actual invites.

And here they are....

(sorry about the bluriness)

They are actually a lot smaller and cute than I expected and a little bit thinner, but to be honest I don't mind. As long as they make it through the post I'll be happy!

We are almost at the year mark now.. I am petrified of getting to the year mark, because then I know I am in the same race as every other bride and then I know time will FLLLYYY by and I'll be hensing and wiving before I know it! :)

Wedding deliveries

I have had a few wedding related deliveries this past week.. I have also had a few comments from people about how organised I am in planning the wedding well ahead of time - I swear planning is my middle name
 - A is not surprised at all.

So what did I receive?

My shoes arrived from netaporter, packed so sweetly....

Unfortunately they are toooo small. They are a size 40 and fit my girl who is usually a 37/38. Back to the shoe searching I continue...

Any suggestions are more than welcome!!

I also received my garters from NanaRoseDesigns - one throw away and one keepsake.

They were such a good price at only $27USD for both.

The pink is a little darker than I expected, but I love them nonetheless. There was also some "Hollywood tape" in the bag to ensure the garter doesn't slip - if I continue to lose weight this will be very important!

I also received some sample invites from Ink and Love.

I previously thought that I had decided what style I would like and it would be like this one I posted, but then I laid my eyes on these beautiful lace beauties...

They are all around the $5mark, which I don't think is too bad at all.

Mum, I and Zoe from Big Apple Red are currently playing around with the idea of using black lace throughout the styling and these invitations will go perfectly. I love the glamour black lace can bring to an event.

What do you think of black lace styling? Have you been to a wedding with it or seen any inspirational photos along that theme? I need all the help I can get!!!

On the topic of all things wedding.... my makeup artist (trial next Saturday eeeep!) Susie Ayoub has been posting many "before and afte"r shots on her Facebook recently..

I think they look great and really showcase her talent!

I looove this look above!

I can't wait for my own transformation next week!!

More Randomness

This past weekend was pretty quiet for me, so I thought this Monday called for another random post.

another bruise from Pole Dancing, but now I can go upside down with no hands, so it is all worth it!! :)

The horrible weather meant I had to break out my suit, stockings and umbrella this week.
Suit by Review.

My naked ring finger.
Around the band of my ring is 4 rows of smaller diamonds. Unfortunately, I noticed a little while ago that one of the diamonds had fallen out. The ring is still under warranty, so there isn't a problem in getting it replaced, but I do have to have a naked ring finger for a while :(

My $9, yes $9 shoes purchased from Payless on Thursday night! Quality isn't something I consider when they are hot and only $9!!!

Anniversary by Willow Tree. A bought me this on our 1year anniversary and now it sits on the corner of our bath tub. So sweet, I hope that is us when we're older.

Friday night, A and I had a date at Remember Saigon in Newtown. Afterwards, we met up with some friends to go to the movies to see American Pie The Reunion (hilarious!). I had the afternoon of work, so I went home, had a nap and then got ready. I needed an outfit to go with my new $9 shoes!hahaha

Forever 21 Blazer, ASOS bodysuit, Target scarf, Just Jeans Jeans, Payless $9 shoes.

You can see Robbie in the right photo, our robotic vacuum cleaner, working hard to clean our bedroom floor- go Robbie!!

Back of the ASOS bodysuit- business in the front, party in the back.

Lychee and ice cream at Remember Saigon. YUMM.

An invitation sample I got from Etsy last week. The pattern is not me or our wedding, but I have decided that this style, the booklet style is what I want. Now I just have to play around with my ideas for tweaking it.

Apart from the movies and dinner, this weekend I also went to a friend's birthday lunch and then had some family over at ours yesterday for lunch.  I cooked lasagna, which turned out pretty well and then showed my family my tricks on the pole. I was lucky that I didn't fall when I went upside down, after the sneaky tequila shots A and I were having in the kitchen hehe.

At lunch, my dad and my little brothers gave me my first birthday presents.... I'll post on that shortly.

How was your weekend? eventful?

Wedding Invitations

I LOVE pretty wedding invitations and I kind of have an idea about what I want for our wedding, but i'm not 100%. For this reason, I have recently started ordering some sample invites from websites.

I received one lot of samples today from Exclusively Weddings in the USA.

I had ordered 3 samples from them, all of which were free.
Unfortunately, I did have to pay for the postage to Australia.

This invite was sheer. I think it is okay, but not right for me.

I love the pocket in this invite for the extra cards, I think it makes it look clean and stops the extra cards falling out.
I am also a huge fan of ribbon.

This invite is really cute and different, but I don't think it will go with our theme.

All in all, Exlusively weddings make good quality invites and they are so much cheaper than those from Australia.

Unfortunately, none of them are exactly what I am after.

Lucikly, I still have a long time until our wedding :)
