My Birthday

Well it happened... my birthday rolled around once again, they all told me I was a year older, A spoilt me and I drank my fair share of alcohol.

I am officially one step closer to 30, and one step further away from 20 - I'm 26.

The Friday before my birthday, we met some of our favourites at our local for cocktails and dancing. They made sure I enjoyed myself sooo much, that I took the taxi through McDonald's drive through on the five minute drive home :)

Love my neon pumps! $15 from Rubi :)

How bad does my skin look in these pictures? I had ran out of Mac and used an Australis foundation I had lying around... sooooo shiny you could see your reflection in my face!

they gave me a balloon!!! small things, small things.

My actual birthday was on the Monday (29th April) and I had the day off work.

During the day I get told by A "you'll get instructions later".

Later on I get a text... "be in the city at 4:45pm" with an address.

After jumping in the shower, I realised I had no idea to what to wear! I sent A a few sms' but no response and then I got...

"Hello Birthday Girl. You should wear something warm, bring a jacket and not too dressy but not too casual. Wear flats. Pack clothes for work tomorrow and don't forget your toothbrush!"

Hmmm...

I picked out an outfit and trained it into the city, where I met A and was taken to our hotel room for the night. Then I was quickly rushed out the door...
We walked for about 15 minutes, before A walked over to a man got a couple of tickets and I realised what we were doing... canapes and drinks on a tall ship around Sydney Harbour!!!!
I loooved it! It was romantic, fun and an amazing birthday!

After the cruise, he continued to spoil me with an array of birthday presents.

I am one lucky chicken!!

Woopsie... Here's a wedding!

Woopsie! I fell off the bandwagon and I give myself the worst blogger award!

The funny thing is, I have actually had a lot to blog about... but my business has stopped me. Life got in the way, as they say. I have been attending so many markets and pop up events for Dat Girl, I got a new job, I turned 26 (eep!) and I have tried to put my foot on the petal with wedding stuff, as we are now under the 6 month mark.... I'll update that in a separate post...

So here's to the start of updating you on what's been going on...

Let's start with my friend Christine's wedding

I have had loads of conversations with Christine about wedding planning over lunch, what annoys us, what we don't want to spend money on and what traditions we are throwing out the window.

She got engaged maybe 6 months after us, but was married in April.

Unfortunately on her day the rain bucketed down and her beautiful outdoor ceremony had to be moved indoor. She was lucky she had a backup venue and lovely decorators who were more than happy to move things to another location for her...

 She looked stunning.

You know how you always try to imagine what the bride will wear? well I got it totally wrong and I loved how she looked!

The reception was at Garden's on Forest, which was a beautiful venue and we had soo much fun!

Especially in the photobooth!

The 5 hour reception just flew by though, and I wasn't even the  bride..how fast will time go at my own?! arghhh!!

Cake, complete with bobble heads!

I am glad weather is one thing that I don't have to worry about.

Food Porn

On Tuesday night I went for the longest facial EV-ER! I had stinging skin, heard all about the ladies love affairs and of course was criticised for using clinique and told how bad my skin was for the entire time.

Has anyone else had this? I feel like some hairdressers do it too.. criticise your hair and you just wanna be like "gee thanks, I had some self esteem when I walked in here". That's why I love my current hairdresser, he just talks to me about life. Not hair.

After my facial, while I was all stinging and red, and it was waay too late to be eating, I went with A on a double date with my girl and her man to our local pub.

I wanted to share with you the looks of this pub food, because to me it takes pub grub to a whole new level.

Chicken

Lamb shanks

Ohhh yeah, this arrived on Tuesday too!

Umm yep.. that's me.. THE BRIDE! *chuffed*
