X Factor

I have many many posts to catch up on, including one about the amazing weekend I had a week ago, but all of those can only happen when I get off my lazy bottom and upload photos from my camera. Until such time, I am going to write about Saturday.

On Saturday I woke up after only a few hours sleep with the worst hangover imaginable. You know the kind where you feel nauseous, your head hurts, your tired and you hate the entire world? Yep, I had one of those hangovers, but I still managed to get my butt to Saturday morning dance class.

After class I ran a few errands, ate a greasy burger and crawled into bed (with A, who still hadn’t woken up) for a quick nap.

A quick nap was all I had time for, because I had to get up, get dressed and head into the city for X FACTOR AUDITIONS!!!! I don’t know how my mum scored tickets to this, but she did and she is awesome.

We had to wait a while to get in, but once we did they had a comedian entertaining us to make the wait more bearable. The comedian was also getting us to fake our reactions. NO JOKE!! He would say one, two, three clap loudly,   one, two, three, standing ovation and one, two, three put on your OMG face on like you just saw something you thought was odd. YES it is that FAKE! Who knows how they will edit the show to put these reactions after various acts. Like, oh this girl is hot, I think we will make the crowd give her a standing ovation. I knew things were edited, but not to this extent!!! Either way, we played along.

After all of our reactions were recorded, Luke Jacobs came and said hello for a minute before disappearing backstage and then out came the judges. There was no doubt that Natalie Bassingthwaighte looked HOT in a red sparkly backless dress, but that is where my love for her ended.

I have to say I have always been a fan of Mel B. Okay, not always... but lately, as in from about a year and a half ago when I started watching her reality TV show hehe. I liked her show and fell in love with her now middle daughter Angel, who is as cute as a button. Anyways, Mel did not disappoint me.

While we were patiently waiting for the auditions to start (and the ladies were getting touch ups), Ronan and Guy talked to the crowd and played along with the comedian, entertaining us. Then Mel B got on the microphone, said hello and said her daughter Angel wanted to sing. Mel B tried to give her the microphone for Angel to sing next to her mum at the judges table, but oh No Angel wanted to get up on stage to sing and that she did. The little cutie sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on stage in front of 5,000 people!  Mel laughed saying “that’s my daughter” – maybe she gets it from Mel, maybe she gets it from Eddy Murphy? Who knows, who cares, I love her lol.

Mel grabbed her other two daughters for hugs and fun during the breaks too. It was nice to see.

Natalie Bassingthwaighte did not talk to the crowd ONCE the entire 3 hours I was there  (I left early) and in most breaks did not even turn her chair around to face the audience. She was generally just sitting there on her phone with her back turned. Like I said, no love for her. The comedian didn’t even bother with gags about her like he did the other 3, he must think she is a stuck up snob too hehehe. Hey! I call it as I see it. She also looked very thin, unlike Mel B who seriously has a freaking SMOKIN’ body! My dream body would be hers, she has curves but  not one ounce of fat can be seen, to me that is an ideal body.

No love from Natalie, second from the right.

The whole audition night was so much fun, we laughed, we booed, we cheered and we danced. There were some acts that I think will make it a long way and others I think were robbed. Hopefully you get to see them all on TV. It was such a fun night, I didn’t want to leave… but we had an engagement party/30th birthday to run off to..

My friend's engagement party was in Darling Harbour too, so that was super convenient. We had a great night catching up with various friends, watching brawls crash out of the bars onto the walk way and gawking at my amazingly beautiful pregnant friend Beti.

beautiful bump
Poor Beti could only have one drink (apparently that’s allowed) on this happy occasion, as she is due at the end of August, but darn it she still rocked a dress. She suits pregnant, she looks amazing.

Beti, Angie, Me and Ratula

I wore my sparkly ASOS skirt, I bought here, but I forgot to take an outfit shot, so you’ll just have to trust me.

I would never forget to take an outfit shot if I had Mel B’s body that’s for sure hahaha.

Who is your favourite judge? Do you watch X Factor?

  3. That's so cool that you got to see the auditions! Wow. I have never watched X Factor, and knew that TV shows were edited to every degree, but not to that extent! Will be highly sceptical when watching shows like that now.
